Hello Seattle!

As the founder of Beat Kitchen, I (Nathan) am based out of Seattle. A number of us are here, but Beat Kitchen meets primarily on our Discord. While we have partnerships studios in a few key locations, our residents are distributed across the world. Having a school that focuses on small, intimate groups requires critical mass and it's difficult to maintain that in any given city. We are looking to grow, but in the meantime we only offer occasional in-person meetings and events. ​

Beat Kitchen is still Seattle's best place to learn about music production. We serve the Seattle area and offer our exclusive lineup of courses to the world — live — through our tiny virtual classroom/labs.

Seattle's rich musical history is an inspiring backdrop to our lineup. Having spawned visionaries like Quincy Jones, Jimmy Hendrix, and Nirvana, Seattle's music and tech scene is vibrant as evidenced by (for example) an active creative coding and vital modular synth community.

Beat Kitchen is a school that functions like a residency: a lab for you to work through your ideas in a creative and supportive environment. Our artist-instructors and our community stand by as your production allies as you explore crafts such as songwriting, digital music production, mixing, synthesis and sound design, audio and recording techniques.
