Dorothea Tachler

Berlin

troubadour

Dorothea Tachler is a musician and composer who was born and raised in Munich, Germany as the child of Korean and German-Croatian parents. After graduating in classical music there at the Academy for Music, she toured around the world with German, Japanese and American bands singing and playing different instruments (violin, keys, bass, guitar and more), constantly exploring and performing different genres.

Touring the world led her to New York where she started composing music for films, but also other music projects including her own bands My Favourite Things and Hunki Dori, besides playing with many talented musicians of the New Yorker music scene, embracing even more genres and instruments. Collaboration in music and film is something she loves and is constantly doing, from big corporate clients like Burt’s Bees and Sesame Street to up and coming film makers, artists, students, individualists. Making records, soundtracks and other audio-related productions as a one-woman-operation, she became a well-versed sound engineer, producer and arranger. Currently she’s residing in Berlin and working on her next album, and playing around town with the local musicians.
